Purpose
This climate change tool was primarily developed for those involved in curriculum
development, to help them explore which aspects of climate change are well covered
by their
proposed curriculum, where there are gaps and where there is duplication. However,
it should
be of use to anyone wishing to make sure that they cover the broad range of concepts
associated with climate change in whatever they are doing, particularly in climate
change
communications.
If you have any suggestions, particularly about missing concepts or links, please
contact

Colour key
White represents climate change, the core concept in this resource
The five other colours represent topics that are connected to climate change.
Warmer
colours nearer the centre of the climate change constellation are more well
connected.
Cooler colours towards the outside are less well connected.
Literacy statement
The Royal Meteorological Society believes that every student should leave school
with the
basic climate literacy that would enable them to engage with the messages put
forward by the
media or politicians or to make informed decisions about their own opportunities and
responsibilities when it comes to climate change mitigation and adaptation, and also
to
equip them with the knowledge and skills required for the green jobs of the future.
